A raised shelter, located on a major view line axis and visible from 100’s of metres away is the centre piece of a large village park fronting Kororoit Creek in Caroline Springs. The shelter, complete with BBQ facilities, a variety of seating options, bench space, a drinking fountain and pergolas, is accessed by a series of ramps and steps and overlooks the adjacent playground and formal lawn area. Quality materials have been chosen for the construction of the shelter including stone cladding, sandstone

pillars, slate and timber. The park offers a range of passive and active recreation areas, with small garden and seating spaces located off a central axis. The playground is constructed with a series of curved metal arches and uses pea gravel as a soft fall mulch to create a contemporary finish. The area fronting Kororoit Creek is planted using indigenous plants whilst the balance of the park is planted with colourful drought-tolerant exotic and native species.
