Situated on the dramatic and beautiful south-west coastline of Bali, this residence is one of two on a sprawling acreage which overlooks black sand beaches and Sawah (rice) fields. The brief was to maximise the views and ‘play’ with the sloping nature of the site to place a series of ‘Balinese style’ pavilions and create a unifying landscape to link them. In addition, the brief also included the desire for an infinity pool – perfect for the sloping site. |
The result was a series of ponds, infinity pool, terraces and staircases all situated around several mature Coconut trees. Mature Frangipani trees were bought in as well as many ornate stone carved pots and sculpture pieces. Since its original construction in 2006 the landscape has matured and become more lush through supplementary plantings of Heliconia, Strelitzia, Cordylines, Palms, Ferns, Gingers and Lotus lilies. |
